Ekaterina
Rozhkova was brought up by two traditions: Moscow art school of the 70-es
and traditional Japanese calligraphy. These two very folkish features
gave birth to some quality in her art - something that exceeds the national
and the temporary things in art. (catalogue of exhibition in Moscow
Museum of Oriental Art, 1997)
Simplicity
is the most complicated thing on Earth, and only the true professionals
and genii can master it. Ekaterina Rozhkova portrays the simple objects,
but these inane and usual things hide the Universe inside... ("Elle

1969 born in Moscow
1982 - 1987 graduated from the Moscow Art College at the premises of
Surikov's Institute
1987 - 1992 graduated from the State Institute of Cinema (V.A.Bogdanov's
class)
1994 - 1996 probated in the National Academy of Art, Tokio
