From 8 to 23 December 2000 Elena Vrublevskaya Gallery presented a modern art project "Millenium Palace or the Gifts of Destruction". The action took place in the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art. This project has brought together modern photography, building of the sand mandala, Tibetan rituals and performances of PURBA – the Theatre of Tibetan Music.

The exhibition included photographs featuring Nepal, the series of photographs “Facing the infinity” and the installation with Tibetan musical instruments.

A group of four Tibetan monks from tantric Gyudmed monastery (India), who  perform all over the world, in 2 weeks were creating a mandala of coloured sand, 1.5 meter in diameter. During construction of the mandala the monks performed two rituals: Purification of the Universe and Medicine Buddha. Their mission was finished when the mandala was destroyed on the last day and the sand was thrown into the river Moscow for the blessing of this land and all the creatures
