Sergey Filatov «Trajectory of Boomerang»31.01.2008 - 23.02.2008 On 31st of January the exhibition of the artist Sergey Filatov starts in Elena Vrublevskaya gallery. The practitioner of Shri Raman Maharshi system, Filatov is aimed to develop the method of a Teacher and to come to the exchange of spiritual experience with the spectator. Sergey Filatov considers himself to be the follower of Shri Ramana Maharshi School. This system is also known as "Maha-yoga" and is based on a key question "Who am I?". Its supporters are in a continuous process of Self-Awareness, tending to realize their true nature, to attain Self-Realization. Filatov's works are the act of self-knowledge, where he tries to develop a method of a Teacher, resorting to the help of the visual art. A western artist is usually the creator and generator of the idea. While an eastern artist assigns himself a part of the instrument, which helps all that is needed to happen. Sergey Filatov practices the eastern approach. In his paintings and ambient music he moves away from any subject plots, assimilating his works to spontaneous improvisations. The name of the exhibition "Trajectory of Boomerang" symbolizes the track, which the weapon of Australian aborigines makes, before it comes to the initial point. The beginning, the source for Sergey Filatov is self-awareness, the answer to the question "Who am I?". When teaching his students, Shri Maharshi preferred silence to words. Silence and mind calmness, according to his experience, act more than any words. With this exhibition "Trajectory of Boomerang" Sergey Filatov invites the spectator to exchange spiritual experience, where music and visual art are used instead of words.
